As Seen in… MyHomeTown Chula Vista.
I wanted to personally thank MyHomeTown Chula Vista magazine for writing the article about our lights this year. Every year I question if I should call the big news channels - but the reality is that this is for Chula Vista. I hope that everyone that has seen the lights enjoyed the show and we are already looking forward to 2010! Even though I will probably tell everyone around April that I’m going to keep it small - the around August the fever hits, by October - it is out of control again! But I love it and enjoy talking to everyone that drives up and says hi! Merry Christmas.
By Friday night December 18th we will have over 40,000 individual lights in the display! We are live with nearly everything but we are adding a few items to enhance the current display to create a bit of balance and to hit that 40,000 target! Thank you to everyone that has stopped by - we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
We are live - all that is left is to add the green lawn lights to the main lawn and to finish 3 palm leafs we are building! But you can come and enjoy the show. Make sure to tune into 88.5 FM to listen to the music… the last show will run at 9pm this year - we are cutting the 10pm to save on electricity… So, the shows will run 5,6,7,8 and 9pm! There will be “filler” in between shows along w/ Christmas music! Thank you.
We are nearly complete with getting all of the lights setup - however, we got the radio working on the shows are showing from 5pm through 10pm - on the hour. Each show lasts about 25 minutes and repeats each hour. We will have Christmas music playing in between shows and have a slow animation of the lights!
Should have everything 100% by Friday night! I’ll be out there working - usually after we put our little guy down for bed - stop by and ask any questions you may have if you see me outside - my name is Chris.
Merry Christmas!
Not Really - but working every night and this weekend to make sure we go live the Saturday night after Thanksgiving! Almost all of the lights are done - but then I need to run power to all of them! 1.25 miles of extension cord… Maybe more this year - could be closer to 1.5 miles! Yes MILES!
Well - we have started on the lights this year - not as far along as I would like - but we are making progress!
First off - we had the front tree trimmed to help open the house and display up and because we had to! But so far we have about 12,000 lights installed already - non are powered up yet - however, we will be making a ton of progress this week - I will be working every night to get this done and live the first Saturday after Thanksgiving - So 11/28 at 5pm or 6pm will be the VERY first show! We may not be 100% done - but we will have 90%+ completed and then will add the lawn lights and a few new things as we can! I am REALLY looking forward to having everyone stop by! Merry Christmas!
Both my local Target and Lowe’s are stocked with Christmas lights and fixtures! I got a few new ideas by walking around last night… and bought some lights to build some green trees which will be staked into the ground! Stay Tuned - Looking to start the build out after Halloween and planning the first show the Friday after Thanksgiving!!!
I thought I would post a quick update to let anyone who finds our site - that yes we will be building our display again this year! We will be pushing closer to 40,000 lights and there will some new additions! We are looking forward to begin work after Halloween with the first show lighting up around Thanksgiving!
We hope that you will come and visit and tune your radios in to listen to the synchronized music! Invite your friends and your family - we look forward to creating a fun experience for everyone!
New features that we are working on for this year!
Stay Tuned - I will begin posting more and more as we get closer to the GRAND Lighting!
